It's been a while since I've touched this hair. Follow me while I put my trust in the professional's hands and let them have their way with my locks!
If you know me by now you know I love supporting other local brands and talented individuals. With that said, this post is in collaboration with a very sweet friend of mine. Her name is Cynthia, but professionally she goes by Cindy (only because someone else at her work place has the same first name), so just remember that if you call in to book.
We met on similar paths as consultants for a brand in the past. We both fell into it, but were not passionate about it, and overtime we both moved on to bigger and better things. We are now both pursuing our true passions mine which is in makeup and her's in hair dressing! She has finished all of her classes and is now a certified Hair Stylist at Aveda Institute Calgary. Her skills also landed her a chair right in the heart of downtown at their Stephen Avenue location, which is right off the train and easy to get to. If you are looking for someone to glam you for an event, or even give you a beautiful blowout to last the week hit her up.
Given that she is new to this location we thought it would be fun to let her play around with my hair so that we could give you a glimpse of what she is capable of to any of you who may be in the area or looking for a new hair stylist! I personally have a background in makeup but not in hair. While I like to think that I can pull the two off for my blog photos it is often a challenge. Without any professional hair training all I have been able to master myself is a curling wand. My hair is curled in pretty much every photo, so when I went in "Cindy" asked if I ever wear my hair straight or if I like straight hair. I told her that I do, but that I tend not to because I am not good at. When I try myself it always looks flat. I agreed to let her do her magic whatever it was as long as she gave me some volume, because I think the bigger the hair the better!
It had been years since I let anyone touch my hair, so the ends were pretty damaged. "Cindy" spoiled me with a complimentary cut, wash, and style. I wish I had the list of products that she used memorized because she delivered on the volume. I know she would be happy to share product information with anyone interested. Anyways, my hair has NEVER looked so fabulous straight! The volume was there, and the ends were ever so softly twisted to give a more elegant vibe. I literally did not wash my hair for days after my treatment because I did not want to let go of the style (and I usually wash every day or two). Whatever she did it lasted until I decided to let it go, so the longevity was impressive. This is a style that you could easily go in for once a week and not have to touch up at all. If you are someone who likes to quickly wake up and go during the week this is totally for you!
Enough of me talking though. I am sure you all want to see the hair with your own eyes, so scroll down and feast yourselves! Again if you are interested in treating yourself call Aveda located at 225 8 Ave SW and ask for Cindy!
