About two months ago now Violet Voss launched a new line of liquid lipsticks. I ordered them as soon as they came out, tried them out and shared photos on Instagram. I wanted to do a product review as well, but I became extremely busy after the launch of my new website and got so caught up in all my bookings that I fell behind on blogging. However, I am getting back to it now and still want to give these liquid lipsticks a special shout out because they are definitely mention worthy!
I personally feel like Kylie Jenner started the brown lip trend, but regardless of where it came from it has taken the beauty community by storm! I feel like liquid lipsticks have also done the same. Most of us have traded in our favorite traditional lipsticks in favor of the liquid lipstick form. This is what most companies have been pushing as evident with famous beauty brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills, Tarte Cosmetics and even MAC now which is surprising! This is just to name a few (obviously the list goes on and on). Anyways, when I learned that Violet Voss had created brown liquid lipsticks and saw how true brown they were (with no orange or bronze tint like most out there) I was psyched. I refreshed my browser as soon as the launch happened and immediately added them up in my cart. Violet Voss provided confirmation right away, excellent tracking information, fast shipping, and the package even came with cute wrapping and a thank you card for purchasing. The entire experience and appearance of the package itself was impressive.
Now for the product, I honestly can’t tell you which shade I like more. Both are beautiful and unique in their own way. In reference to the photo below, "Excessive" which is displayed on the left is a true brown, and "Flirt" which is displayed on the right is more of a mauve shade. I personally love and recommend them both. The formula has a creamy mousse texture, which is a tad thicker than a traditional liquid lipstick but still light weight. It is not too whipped and fluffy like some others out there (ie. new Tarte Lip Paint), nor is it like a traditional creamy gloss either. It’s honestly right in between both formulas making the perfect combination. They also wear really well. They stay opaque (no fading) the entire day with only minor touch ups required to the inner portion of the lip where it tends to rub off as a result of eating and drinking, which in my opinion is to be expected anyways. I usually only have to touch up once during an 8 hour work day.
I am a huge supporter of this brand for their amazing customer service and product quality. I definitely recommend giving them a try if you are looking for a product like this.
